The Alba Madonna
(Urbino 1483 - Rome 1520)
The work is a Roman school copy of the Virgin and Child with the Infant Saint John the Baptist, known as the Alba Madonna, painted by Raphael in 1511. In the collection of the Duke of Alba between the end of the eighteenth and the beginning of the nineteenth century, the original is now in the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
